Solitary Moon

Up there in the heavens, 
You lay with all the grace, 
On the blanket so dark and velvety, 
Studded with those precious diamonds, 
Yet you seem so lonely....

There from your throne, 
So high and mighty, 
You look down at me in all your glory, 
Yet you seem so lonely.....

In the strangling darkness, 
You reside,  trying to quell it, 
With your insolent charm, 
Yet you fade away with every passing night....

But I'll be there, 
Every night, 
Looking from down below, 
To above and beyond, 
Where you live so regally, 
Yet so lonely, 
So lonely...
